Formed in 2004 by like minded business people, WA Charity Direct raises funds for charitable causes with a focus on helping in situations where the cause does not have a 'geared up' charity collection mechanism.
To date over $870,000 has been raised with 100% of funds going to charity..
WA Charity Direct has a unique method of collecting revenue
- Members are 'invited' once to join WA Charity Direct
- Funds are generated by membership fees
- Membership is $2000 per annum (tax deductible)
- Members are required to invite two (2) members to join WA Charity Direct in their 2nd year of membership. Those members in turn invite another 2 members in their 2nd year and so on.
- Costs of running WA Charity Direct are kept to an absolute minimum; so far our legal work, accounting and design work has been donated.
- 100% of our funds go to charity
- A board of 5 original members was put into place upon incorporation in 2005 to help steer the charity and conform with the Trust Deed
- Throughout the year WA Charity Direct members vote on potential Charities. All members are encouraged to suggest potential charities, if a member can demonstrate a cause is worthwhile and complies with the WA Charity Direct Charter it will be put to a members vote for approval.
- Approximately 75% of each year's funds are distributed to Charities, up to 25% is retained for emergency charity purposes.
Becoming a member of WA Charity Direct provides the individual the opportunity to have a decided impact on Charities of his or her choice. WA Charity Direct is also low involvement/low maintenance, tax deductible and is not a public relations machine meaning that membership is worthwhile but not taxing of your time.
